About me
Hello! My name is Maximilian Weihs, and I am a 2D animator and illustrator from Germany! I have a Bachelor's degree in illustration and media design from the Münster School of Design and a Master's degree in animation from the St. Joost School of Arts and Design in 's-Hertogenbosch.
A big focus of my work is the interplay of digital precision and playful handicraft. I love experimenting with different styles and techniques. Finding clever ways to automate some of the tedium of animation while keeping the irreplicable human touch of the craft is the best!
But computer automation can only go so far. I firmly believe traditional frame-by-frame animation offers a unique, irreplicable fluidity, expressive power, and - most importantly - fun! And just that is what I want my work to be.
